So, I've an appointment in the morn with my primary care doctor. Will be doing a breathing inhaling exam, a chest x-ray, bloodwork (sent to Utah) and a consult with the doc. All to see if there is any issue with mold in my system.

Over the weekend, I get to hear about a cousin's husband who had died from mold. But, mind you, he had had emphazima, and it was toxic black mold. Then my brother who works in maintenance gives me the concerns about asbestos and lead paint since it is an old house. Yeah, as if I don't have enough on my mind already...

Papa God, can we say "Uff Da and/or Good Grief" already?

The air purifier did wonders. Amazing. Got the lower level of the cupboards and counters all cleared out and scattered through the apartment. I've got offers from Nancy and from Paul & Nicole if need be I could stay with them. Sounds like the kitchen might end up getting gutted. A professional(?) gave it a preliminary look and does not believe it to be anything toxic, just invasive.

All this, and I am in rehearsals, supposed to be memorizing my lines.

Well now. I'm in a garden-level apartment rental of a house built in the 1930s. I've been down here for over six years. We are beginning the process of discovering mold under my kitchen sink and in the walls. Kitchen wall under the sink has been torn in to, same with a section of the living room wall for the landlady et al to discover the source of a leak and/or mold source... A bit of a disarray...

Talked with the landlady tonight. The entire living room wall will have to be torn out. Mayhaps the kitchen gutted too. An environmental(?) specialist is coming tomorrow with the plumber to make a professional assessment of the problem and stuff...

Not to be an alarmist or anything, but when I mentioned the kitchen sink mold and stuff, a few friends started asking if that could be the cause of these stupid unidentifiable pain issues. I did some browsing online...

Also I have a call in with my primary care physician about getting tested for biotoxins. I'll be getting an air purifier tomorrow, reimbursed by the landlady. Depending on what the specialist determines, I might end up needing to stay elsewheres until stuff is controlled. My landlady said she would knock off the March rent and/or prorate the rent or such.
Uff da.

Blood tests for celiac disease are back... Drum Roll... Negative. So, still no rhyme or reason for the chronic paresthesia nomadic peripheral neuropathic pain, aka The Tingle Trail. Whee. But, so, this Norwegian is very GLAD that he does not have to give up flour and wheat and bread and potet klubb and lefse and goros and . . . . Maybe I should yoga? I do have that deep tissue massage appointment next Wednesday evening. Thank you YHWH for holding me through all this muck.

Going in for blood work at lunchtime to see if the tingles, etc. are all from celiac disease. I guess you can say we're just grasping at straws now to find something for the reason...  It's getting to be like being a pin cushion or a dart board... OR may be that someone has a voodoo doll out on me?!?!

The reason for looking at celiac is the combination of IBS, aches, fatigues, joint problems, the neuropathies. There are also issues with the iron, B12, Vit D as well. The downside would be giving up WHEAT! Uff da.

Found this blip on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysesthesia
Living with dysesthesia

A patient suffering from dysesthesia can find it to be unbearable at times. Dysesthetic burning has been called "Dante-esque" pain. The terminology used to describe it is usually interchangeable with descriptions of Hell in classic literature. It is the "bluntest" pain of which the human body is capable, and is characterized by the absence of accurate discriminative information.

Temperature change and heat both affect the sensation and raise the level of the steady pain. This pain upgrades with tonic light touch, phasic rubbing, or rough textures to become evoked pain.

The patient often cannot endure the touch of clothing. His or her entire life becomes an exercise in avoiding evoked pain. It causes difficulty in obtaining rest because bed-clothing contacts the skin. It drives the patient to a hysterical search for relief of the pain, which ends in some degree of resignation and frequent depression. Patients indicate that it has robbed them of their identity, since their values and mental priorities are so consumed by its avoidance.
And http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyneuropathy
Polyneuropathy is a neurological disorder that occurs when many peripheral nerves throughout the body malfunction simultaneously. It may be acute and appear without warning, or chronic and develop gradually over a longer period of time. Many polyneuropathies have both motor and sensory involvement; some also involve dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. These disorders are often symmetric and frequently affect the feet and hands, causing weakness, loss of sensation, pins-and-needle sensations or burning pain. There are quite a few conditions that can cause polyneuropathy.

Whee. Hold me Jesus, please!

Yep, the exhaustion lasted through Saturday and into Sunday. Better by Sunday. Monday was a free day. Free. I enjoyed it. Until the left hand started buzzing. Woke up this morning with the left elbow to the fingertips numb. Buzzing and cold. Numb. And the outside of the right calf is full of fire ants. Whee.

But I've been surviving the frigid temps and rehearsals!

Friday, February 04, 2011

Well, endured a few days of another intense buzzing, tingling, jolting. Alternated between my right and left hand, and primarily in my left leg and foot. The big toe was full of the jolts. Now winding down. And what is the winding down like? I am completely physically exhausted as if I had been going non-stop for hours on end. And I pee like crazy, multiple times in mass quantities. So, I don't know. I think during the spells that my muscles just tense up like crazy and don't let loose until the jolts are dissipating or something.

I did get ahold of a massage therapist about deep-tissue massage. He only does evenings and weekends, which works great for my schedule. Now to get around to phoning him!

Rehearsals start on Monday for Twelve Angry Men with opening night five weeks later. Another fun, busy time ahead!

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

So, despite my body aching from backstage with "Screwtape", I went ahead and auditioned for "Twelve Angry Men". If cast, it does look to be a relatively easy role physically.

One month without coffee, and no change in the amount or intensity of the tingles and stuff. Can I go back to coffee now, please?

Friday I endured a new one. Had a needle like thing piercing me in the front of my right thigh, and simultaneously in the back of my left calf. It happened several times during the day. Hmm, maybe someone has a voodoo doll out on me?!?

Also, a friend suggested a natural medicine doctor at Dakota Natural Health Center. Guess it won't hurt to ponder that one.

This cold weather snap has my bod aching and begging for relief. I think the coldness makes my muscles tense up something fierce, especially in my low back. So, Spring, where are you?
